58y 2m 17d Absalom Peters, a son of Mahlon and Rachel Meredith Peters, was born 06 Nov 1814 at Lancaster, Fairfield Co., Ohio. He married Alice Ann DeHaven in 1834, and with her had two children: Jesse and Mary Alice Peters. After Alice died in 1840, Absalom married Catherine Williams Brown in 1844. With Catherine, he had 7 children: Isabella (Belle), Oscar Frantz, Mary Eleanor, Francina M., Harriet D., John W. and Mahlon O. My information says that after Catherine's death in 1862, he married Elizabeth Brown Straight on 08 Aug 1863 in Davenport, Darke Co., Ohio; however, I have found nothing further on Elizabeth's background either. Absalom and Elizabeth had the following children (there may have been others, but I have information for only these three): Richard Henry, Elmer Gashem/Gershom, and an unnamed son who died in infancy.
