Sarah Kern Stutsman Birth: 1805 - Kentucky, USA Death: 21 Jul 1883 (aged 77–78) - Cunningham, Chariton County, Missouri, USA Burial: Stutsman Cemetery, Cunningham, Chariton County, Missouri, USA Plot: There is no visible marker. It is assumed she is buried here. Her son and other famly members are here with markers Memorial ID: 97583930 Sarah Stutsman fell asleep in Jesus on the 21st day of July, 1883 at the residence of A. Fry, her son-in-law. In her 78th year. Sister Stutsman was born in Kentucky, was immersed by Elder Peter Honn in early life, and at her death was a member of Cunningham Congregation in Chariton Co, Missouri. Her maiden name was Kern, a cousin to Elders Abram and Conrad Kern of Monroe County, Indiana. She was raised in the family of Adam Kern, father of Abram and Conrad. Her husband, Abraham Stutsman, preceded her some 38 years. She kept her children together, four sons and four daughters, and trained them to habits of industry. More she trained them religiously, so that all of them embraced the truth early in life, and it was a comfort to her in her last days to know that none of them ever apostiatized. She was drawing a pension, being the widow of a soldier of the War of 1812. Thus has passed away one greatly beloved for her many virtues and Christian devotion. |
