| James. Herre till Dalkeith och Morton. Ärvde sin farbroder Sir William Douglas, »knight of Liddesdale» 1353. Åtföljde Sir Archibald the Grim och biskopen av Glasgow på deras ambassad till Frankrike 1371. En av de skotska kommissarierna som avslöto vapenstilleståndet med engelsmännen i Ayton 1384. Död 1420. Gift 1:o 1372 med Agnes Dunbar, död före 1384. Gift 2:o med Egidia Stuart i hennes 3:e gifte (gift 1:o med Sir James Lindsay of Crauford. Gift 2:o med Sir Hugh Eglinton), dotter av Walter the Steward och halvsyster till konung Robert II av Skottland. Barn: 1. James. Herre till Dalkeith och Morton, den förste lord Dalkeith 1401. Död omkring 1440. Gift 1:o 1392 med Elisabet Stuart, dotter av John, earl of Carrick, sedermera konung av Skottland under namnet Robert III, och Annabella Drummond. 2:o med Janet Borthwick, dotter av Sir William Borthwick. | |
