She also acquired, by disposition, dated 21 May 1645, from her sister Anne, the house and grounds in Canongate, Edinburgh, known as Moray House, for herself and her son, James, Lord Doune. Furthermore, on 26 August 1653 she, as Countess of Moray, resigned the subjects in favour of her eldest surviving son, who had succeeded to the Earldom.
