Im Herbst 1861 gründete Bruckmann in Stuttgart den „Verlag von Friedrich Bruckmann“. Im Sommer 1863 kam er nach München, wo er 1884 die „Photographische Union“ gründete. 1883 wurde die Firma „Friedrich Bruckmann“in eine Aktiengesellschaft umgewandelt.(Wikipedia)
