<p>Kazinczy Gábor, Schriftsteller und Politiker. * Berettő, Kom. Zemplén (Bracovce, Slowakei), 18. 7. 1818; † Bánfalva, Kom. Borsod (Ungarn), 18. 4. 1864. Neffe des Vorigen. Auf dem Landtage von 1847/48, als Deputierter des Kom. Borsod, gehört er zu der Reformen verlangenden Opposition. 1848/49, zur Zeit der Revolution und des Freiheitskampfes, Mitgl. des Parlaments und einer der Führer der den Ausgleich mit der Regierung suchenden Friedenspartei. K., der eine rege publizist. Tätigkeit ausübte, zog sich dann von der polit. Arbeit zurück und widmete sich ausschließlich dem literar.Schaffen. Er gab viele Werke ung. Schriftsteller des 16. bis 18. Jhs. heraus und übers. Molière ins Ung. 1858 korr. Mitgl. der Ung. Akad. der Wiss., 1860 o. Mitgl. der Kisfaludy-Ges.
