Zeit u. hörte erst mit dem Jahre 1707 auf, in welchem adelige, meist vom Ausland stammende Forstmeister an die Stelle der dem bürgerl. Stand angehörigen Waldvögte trat. Wo der Waldvogt als Erleger angegeben ist, lässt sich der Ort der Erlegung nicht bestimmen, weil, wenn schon er seinen Wohnsitz in Waldenbuch hatte, sein Wirkungskreis den ganzen Oberforst umfasste. In den Jahren 1674-1701 bekleidete das Waldvogtamt Jonathan MARTIN, augenscheinlich ein tüchtiger Schütze u. Jäger, welcher zuvor lange Zeit im persönlichen Dienst des Herzogs gestanden hatte"
