Notes for this person

Emma Louise, daughter of Christian Harms and his wife Catharine, nee Rodenburg, was born in Kiowa precinct, near Davenport, Neb. She was baptized in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Kiowa where she was alsoconfirmed.<br /><br />She was married to John Flathman on Feb. 8, 1906. After her marriage she and her husband continued to live in the Kiowa vicinity until 1932 when they moved to Davenport and a year later to Oak. In 1935 they moved to the Chester community and since early 1955 were residents of Chester.<br /><br />Mrs. Flathman was the mother of seven children, two of whom, Oscar and Louis preceded their mother in death. In failing health for some time, she became a resident of the Blue Valley Home in Hebron where she passed away on July 17th.<br /><br />He reath (sic) is mourned by her husband and her five children: Mrs. Laura Keim of Hebron, Mrs. Lily Stelljes of Chester, John Flathman of Chester, Mrs. Frances Liebsack of Ruth, Nev., and Elmer Flathman of Ruskin, also 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, one sister and three brothers.
