Find A Grave Memorial# 27442937 - Headstone photo included <p></p> <p>Birth: Jan. 31, 1902</p> <p>Tripoli</p> <p>Bremer County</p> <p>Iowa, USA </p> <p>Death: Dec. 24, 1985</p> <p>Waterloo</p> <p>Black Hawk County</p> <p>Iowa, USA </p> <p></p> <p>Rudolph Piegors, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 24 at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.</p> <p></p> <p>Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 27 at 10 a.m. at Faith United Church of Christ, Tripoli, with burial at the church cemetery. </p> <p>Rudolph was born Jan. 31, 1902 on a farm near Tripoli, the son of Carl and Reaky Carstensen Piegors. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Evangelical Church, Tripoli, and graduated from the Tripoli High School in 1921. <p>On Oct. 12, 1924, he was married to Renetta Tegtmeier at St. Peter's Church. The couple farmed the home farm for three years and then moved to Tripoli. He was employed as a salesman for J.R.Watkins Co. for 14 years, worked at the farmers produce for 15 years, and the Tripoli Leader until retiring in 1967. His wife died in 1948. The couple had one daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Irma) Johnson, Decorah. <p>In 1951, Rudolph was married to Alma Betts. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Church, now Faith United Church of Christ; served as Sunday School Superintendent; sang in the male and mixed choir; member of the member of the Church Council and Men's Brotherhood. <p>He also served the community a total of 32 years in various capcities; school board member, Town Council, Mayor for four years and also Commercial Club President for two years.</p> <p>He is survived by his wife, Alma; daughter and son-in-law Eugene and Irma Johnson of Decorah; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Mrs. Helen Kleiss of Tripoli. </p> <p></p> <p>Information supplied by Louis.</p> <p> </p><p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Burial:</p> <p>Faith United Church of Christ Cemetery </p> <p>Tripoli</p> <p>Bremer County</p> <p>Iowa, USA </p> <p> </p> <p>Edit Virtual Cemetery info [?] </p> <p> </p> <p>Created by: Diane Zabel</p> <p>Record added: Jun 09, 2008 </p> <p></p> <p></p>
