Christian Loges and family emigrated to USA at
age 1+ with his parents on Bark ADONIS. Left Hanover, Germany to settle
in Florence, MO. William August married in 1873, and after approx. 8
years, the family moved to Sedalia, MO and established their home near
Green Ridge. Reference to 1327 East 9th Street. Later Wm. built the
house on 9th Street in Sedalia. Their marriage bore seven children.
Frederick William and Paulina are buried in Memorial Park Cemetery,
Sedalia, MO. Information from family notes by Bernhard Johansen dated
Jan. 1959
Brother of Christian Loges, Heinrich Loges, also emigrated from Gross
Berkel on the same Bark ADONIS. ADONIS arrived at port of New Orleans
on June 1, 1854. Passenger list suggests that Heinrich Loges was born
in Gross Berkel in 1829 or 1830.
