In response to your inquiry about Elsie Hilton, children are not listed in the city directories, but they show that George W. Hilton was here between 1896 and 1902. He worked as a chef and a cook. We assume Elsie was here with him during all that time. In the 1901 school census, Elsie, 15, Mrytle, 14, Ruth, 10, and Robert, 5 were listed. She was not listed in the 1902 school census so they must have left during that summer. We do not have school census records prior to 1901. --------------------- Mrs. William J Morgan Daughter in Ardsley Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Elsie Hilton Morgan, 76, in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Sunday. She was the mother of Mrs. Louis Brownell of Hudson House, Ardsley-on-Hudson, Mrs. Morgan was the widow of William J. Morgan who died last year. She is also survived by a brother, Robert G. Hilton of Miami, Fla., a sister, Mrs. Mrytle Reed of Chicago, Ill.: three grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Herald Statesman, Yonkers, N.Y., Thursday, February 14, 1963
