Aus Find A Grave: Joseph Frank “Joe” Turning GEBURT 8 Nov 1931 TOD 29 Jan 2008 (im Alter von 76) BESTATTUNG Monte Vista Cemetery Alamogordo, Otero County, New Mexico, USA GEDENKSTÄTTEN-ID 115407511 Joe Turning, 76, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008. Private family services were by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Burial will be in Alamogordo, N.M., at a later date. Mr. Turning was born Nov. 8, 1931, in St. Paul, Minn. He married Janet Vogt in 1953 in St. Paul. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as an electrician for a defense contractor at White Sands Missile Range in Alamogordo. He was a Boy Scout leader and helped to establish Troop No. 146. Mr. Turning enjoyed fishing and had a great sense of humor. After the death of his wife, Janet, in 2005, he moved to Amarillo to be closer to family. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Hutt and husband Scott of Papillion, Neb., and Ruth Ross and husband Larry of Amarillo; a son, David Turning and wife Nena of Edgewood, N.M.; and seven grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Ware Memorial Nursing Home & Assisted Living Center, 400 W. 14th Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101.
