He was born December 24, 1967, in Warren, PA. to Stephen and Judith Bator Dilick of Barnes, PA. He was a 1985 graduate of Sheffield Area Jr.Sr. High School. Shawn worked as a self employed IT system administrator for over twenty years. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fishers, IN., and enjoyed hunting and working on computers. On March 20, 2008, according to the Indianapolis Star Newspaper, Shawn and a Vern Trabue jumped into a pond to free and revive a 4yearold girl who was a passenger in an SUV driven by the little girl's mother. The SUV slid off a slick road and entered the pond upside down. The girl was buckled in her car seat under water where she had been trapped for up to 5 minutes when Shawn freed her and carried her out of the pond. He then began performing CPR with the assistance of a woman who said she was a nurse. He gave her numerous breaths and began to think the CPR wasn't working when the child bit him on the lower lip. He then gave her another breath and he saw her blink. Shawn stated he believed God put him in position to help the child. He told the mother, "God had other plans for the little girl than to die today. It wasn't me." In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Julie Beck Dilick whom he married May 16, 1992, of Fortville, IN., twin daughter and son, Noel and Jacob Dilick of Fortville, IN., 1 Brother Scott Dilick of Milwaukee, WI., 1 Sister Sheryl Burge and husband, Robert and their children, Kayla and Kyle Burge of Sheffield, PA., mother and fatherinlaw, Thomas and Fran Beck of Sugar Grove, PA., brotherinlaw, Steven Beck and his wife, Laurie of Russell, PA., paternal grandmother, Norma M. Shawley Dilick of Barnes, PA., several aunts, uncles, cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Frank J. Dilick, maternal grandparents, John and Anne Bator who were all of Barnes, PA, 1 Cousin Martin "Marty" Dilick.
