Birth: Sep. 5, 1929 Dalton Chariton County Missouri, USADeath: Aug. 21, 2015 Columbia Boone County Missouri, USA Christopher “Chris” Thomas Bucksath, 85, of Moberly passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Chris was born to Christopher William and Margaret Theresa (McGee) Bucksath on September 5, 1929 in Dalton, Missouri. He served his country in the United States Army where he was an engineer. Chris retired from the Army after 25 years of faithful service as a Command Sergeant Major. Chris played basketball in the military as well as for MU during his time there. He was an avid bowler and golfer and was The #1 Mizzou Tiger fan. Chris spent most of his days with friends and customers at the Victory Bar in which he was the owner for many years. He was a people person and enjoyed helping others. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Jerry, Bill, Robert, and Richard Bucksath and his special friend, Marlene O’Brink. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Pius Catholic Church, Moberly, Missouri. Inurnment will follow with Military Honors at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, Missouri. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorial contributions go to either of Chris’s favorite charities: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
