Born at Blue Rocks, he was the son of the late Howard Alonzo and Lillian (Whynacht) Weaver. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a retired inshore fisherman and family farmer. in his earlier years, he and his father had oxen, going about the community plowing gardens, hauling loads of hay, gravel or whatever had to be moved with their ox wagon. He enjoyed working with wood and had created many items of folk art over the years. Harold's folk art and the humble manner in which he lived and conversed were a great source of pleasure to all who knew him. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Church, Blue Rocks and an elder and former member of the church session. He is survived by several cousins and their families and many friends from the church and surrounding communities. He was predeceased by his companion, Muriel Knickle, who passed away in 1994. Funeral service 1 p.m. today, March 11, 2002, in St. Paul's United Church, Blue Rocks, Rev. Ruth Brown officiating. Interment will be in Lower Blue Rocks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's United Church, Lower Blue Rocks Cemetery or a charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg.
