(From the collection of Gwen Christie) Charles Kenneth "Bill" Knickle, 83, 40 Cumberland Street, Lunenburg, died Sunday, November 26, 2000, at his residence. Born in Lunenburg, he was a son of the late Charles Reuben and Lottie Leone (Knickle) Knickle. Bill served in the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War. After the war he returned to Lunenburg and worked as a purchasing agent for National Sea Products Limited until his retirement. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Lunenburg and a member of Unity Lodge 4 of the Masonic Order. He was also a founding member of the Lunenburg Rod and Gun Club and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, Lunenburg. He is survived by sister, Frances Fuller; niece, Grace Burke, both of Halifax. Bill was predeceased by his wife, the former Frances Bilby; sisters, Grace Noyles, Charlotte Burke; brother, Harold. A private graveside committal service will be held on Wednesday in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg, Rev. Laurence Mawhinney officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church or to any charity. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
