Edna May "Mae" DINGER

Edna May Fetters - Mille Lacs County Times - (Sep/17/2004) Edna Fetters Funeral services for Edna May Fetters, 85, of Milaca, were held on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004 at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with the Rev. Elmer Fetters officiating. Burial followed at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Music was provided by Jean Fetters. Pallbearers included Ronald Fetters, Elmer Fetters, Leslie Fetters, John Fetters, Donald Fetters and David Fetters. Arrangements were by the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Edna died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004 at the Milaca Elim Home. She was born Aug. 23, 1919 in Hecla, S.D. to Ernest and Hazel (Hewit) Dinger. She attended school through the eighth grade at the Will Dinger School in Brown County, S.D. and was the top eighth grade student in 1934. She married Millard E. Fetters on March 27, 1939 and they made their home in Hecla, S. D. Edna's sister, Minnie, married Millard's twin brother, Willard, four days after Edna and Millard's wedding. The family moved to Milaca in 1956. She worked for a short time at Fingerhut in Princeton, but for the most part, she was a full-time wife and mother. Edna did beautiful embroidery, sewing and quilting and was known as an excellent cook. She was also active in the Tibbetts Brook Sunday School. For the last few years of her life she resided at the Milaca Elim Home and was very active in all of the activities there. Edna is survived by her children, Alta (Willard) Malisheske of Sartell, Ellen "Skip" (Tom) Morton of Hopedale, Ill., Edna Elaine "Cookie" (George) Kaspar of Milaca, Elmer (Anita) of Lawrence, Kan., Leslie (Irene) of Milaca, John (Jodi) of Milaca, Donald (Terri) of Milaca and David (Pam) of Milaca; 28 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Joyce Fetters of Onamia; 3 sisters; 3 brothers; also by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard; son, Harlan "Butch," her parents and eight siblings.
