TOD: 1921John Remiger Obit – 2 Feb 1921 – New Ulm ReviewThe death of John Remiger, for many years a prominent resident of Brown County, occurred at St Alexander Home for the Aged in this city, Monday noon caused by aliments usually attendant upon old age. Deceased was nearly 79 years of age, having been born march 25, 1842, Austria being his native country. Mr. Remiger resided at Sleepy Eye for a number of years prior to September 2 1920, when he came to New Ulm to enter the Home for the Aged. The remains were taken to Sleepy Eye, yesterday afternoon, and funeral services will be conducted at St. Mary’s Catholic Church there this morning. Interment will be in the Catholic cemetery there.1921 John Remiger Obit – 4 Feb 1921 – Sleepy Eye Herald Dispatch JOHN REMIGER DEAD – Lat Monday death summoned John Remiger at the Loretto hospital at New Ulm. This old settler had reached the age of 84 years. His first and second wife preceded him in death some years ago. He is survived by the following relatives: Mrs. John Suess, who resides on a farm near this city; Mrs. Jos. Prokosch at Bird Island; and Mrs. Geo. Prokosch, deceased are children from his first wife and Margaret and John Remiger Jr., children from his second wife. Funeral services were held in the Catholic church Wednesday and the remains were interred in the Catholic Cemetery. The sorrowing relatives have condolences of all in their loss.
