Johann Peter wurde am 17. Juli 1742 als Sohn des Johannes (sic!) Schnippering und der Anna Gertrud Klespe "zu Lerderkus" in Wipperfürth getauft. Als Paten erschienen Johann Peter Schnippering und Maria Elisabeth Klein." [Taufregister Wipperfürth1722-1759 LAV LK 425, S.143/265]
Am 14. Oktober 1766 heiratete er Anna Katharina Hungerberg: "Copulatus Petrus Schnippering ex Lenger- kausen, filius legitimus Jois Schnippering p.m. et Annae Gertrudis Klespe, cum Anna Catharina Hunger- berg ex Weinbick, filia legitima Petri Hungerberg et Mariae Sibyllae Gruterings. Testibus Petro Hungerberg et Wilhelmo Bücheler." Der letztgenannte Pate war ein Schwager des Bräutigams. [Heiratsregister Wipperfürth 1757-1772 LAV 2905 digital, S.321/473]
