Elizabeth (Kastens) Stolte was born March 25, 1872 in Ubbendorf, Hanover, Germany, and died on April, 1932 at 3:15 p.m.; attaining the age 60years, and 17 days. She was baptized soon after her birth, and confirmed in 1886 in the Lutheran church in Wechhold, Germany. In 1889 she cameto America to Ludell, Kansas.
On the 27th of September, Elizabeth was united in marriage to William Stolte. To this union were born 17 children, 5 of whom proceeded their mother in death.
She is survived by her husband, William Stolte, 8 sons, 4 daughters; Mr. & Mrs. Earnest Stolte of Trenton, Nebraska; Mr. & Mrs. Louis Stolte of Stratton, Nebraska; Willie, Herman, Otto, Paul, Gustav, Alfred, Bertha, Dorothy, Lena and Elsbeth Stolte of Ludell, Kansas. Two sister-in-laws, one of Ludell, Kansas and one of Mission, South Dakota; one brother-in-law of Hanover, Kansas; and many other relations and friends also morn her passing.
Mrs Stolte had not enjoyed good health since January. The last month ofher life was spent in hospitals; two weeks at Stratton and then the last two weeks in Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. All that loving and skillful hands could do was done at both places.
Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock by Rev. George Lehenbauer and interment was made in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery north of Ludell, Kansas.
