Arthur Wilhelm Friedrich LICHTENBERG

Arthur Lichtenberg was born March 6, 1906 in Alta to John Lichtenberg and Bertha Holtz. He attended school at Hanover Parochial School throughthe eighth grade. On Feb. 12, 1931 he was married to Mamie Grieme at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Alta. As a young man he enjoyed playing softball on the Hanover team and this carried through in later lifeas he followed his favorite teams on the radio and TV. He was an avidreader and card player. Arthur farm south of Hanover until his retirement and entered Sunset Knoll in Aurelia in 1995. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Hanover where he sang in the churchchoir.

Aurthur died May 14, 1998 at Buena Vista Co. Hospital in Storm Lake. Heis survived by four daughters, Dolores Nicoley, Rockford IL, Myrna andher husband Lawrence Turnquist of Alta, LaVerne and husband Lanny Grigsby of Storm Lake and Norma and her husband Jerry Williems of Marshalltown; one son, Harvey and wife Claudia Lichtenberg of Storm Lake; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and other relatives. He was preceded and death by his wife Mamie in 1973, infant son, one brother and three sisters
