PAUL J. SIEBENECK, 84, died at 1 p.m. July 15, 2006, at Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Glandorf. He was born Oct. 2, 1921, in Avis to Charles and Veronica Deters Siebeneck, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 6, 1945, he married Marcile Dackin, who died Feb. 23, 1997. Mr. Siebeneck retired as a banker with Union Bank. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. He served as Kalida's mayor for 30 years, and also served with the Kalida Emergency Medical Service and Fire Department. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a member of the Kalida Lions Club, Kalida Fish & Game, and served on the Kalida school board. He was an avid Democrat and New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, cards, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Ron (Jane) Siebeneck of Fort Jennings; three daughters, Nancy Croy of Maumee, Joyce (Bob) Buss and Pat (Brad) Unverferth, both of Kalida; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sister Charles Marie Siebeneck of Melbourne, Ky. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Carolus, the Rev. Thomas, the Rev. Robert, and James Siebeneck, and a sister, Agnes Denhart. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida. Father Ken Alt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion.
