Charles Bernard BRUSKOTTER

Charles, 89, Ottawa, died at 10:32 a.m., at the Putnam County Ambulatory Care Cemetery. He was the son of Alphonse and Sylvia Josephine (Kestly) Bruskotter. In Sep, 1948, he married Marilyn Gulker, who preceded him in death. On Jul 1, 1995, he married Julie Hueve, who survives in Ottawa. Also surviving are four sons: Steve (Mary), Ted and Zachary, all Ottawa, and David (Lonna), Findlay; five daughters: Vicki Steffan and Amy Bruskotter, both Columbus, Nancy (Charles) Nestor, Huber Heights, and Dana (John) Imm and Emma Bruskotter, both Ottawa; and seventeen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Deceased are seven siblings. He was a chemical engineer for 40+ years at Sylvania/Philips, Ottawa, and a member of its Quarter Century Club. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, where he was a lector. He graduated from Bowling Green State University and was a lifetime varsity member of Track and Field for pole vaulting. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He was on the Ottawa Town Council for 20+ years and a member of the Ottawa American Legion and VFW. He was on the Ottawa Park Board and Tree Commission. He was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed golfing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, with Rev. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion, VFW and AM VETS.
