Anna Kathryn HORNER

BETHEL, Mo. — Anna K. Long, 89, of Bethel, died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 3, 1996) in the Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center. Born Sept. 3, 1906 in Bradyville, Iowa, Mrs. Long was a daughter of David Matthew and Dora Ann Parker Horner. She married Geiger Springer Long Oct. 20, 1932, in Harrisonville. He died July 24, 1989. Mrs. Long was a member of Bethel Christian Church. Survivors include three sons, Harold Zirkle of Shelbina, David Long of Kansas City and Dennis Long of Poplar Bluff, five daughters, Dora L. Zirkle of Phoenix, Ariz., Anna M. Brown and Madge Dempsey, both of Springfield, Ill., Donna Hoskinson of Pittsfield, Ill., and Monna Lowe of Riverside, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Long raised three grandchildren, Tommy Long of Bethel, and Cindy Fraley and Missy Long, both of Belton. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by two sons, William Albert and Archibald Carter Long II, and a sister, Alice Meskimen. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbyville by the Rev. Jeff Markley. Burial will be in Shelby Memorial Cemetery at Shelbyville.
