Published in The Times Dispatch (Richmond, Virginia) - Sunday, November 6, 1921: WOODSTOCK, VA., Nov. 5. - Lewis Harper Zirkle, 71, is dead at his home near New Market, Shenandoah County. Mr. Zirkle had for many years been a member of the Board of Supervisors of Shenandoah County and only resigned when his health failed. He had also been chairman of the Seventh Congressional District Republican Committee of Virginia for several terms. He is survived by four children - Mrs. Lucy Lohr, of Washington, D. C.; Miss Annie Lee and Mary Zirkle and Lewis H. Zirkle, at home; two brothers and one sister, J. Luther Zirkle, of Van Wirt, Ohio; Reuben M. Zirkle and Miss Margaret Zirkle, of Rockingham County.
