Gladys M. ROSER

Gladys M. White, 98, of Carmi, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, Ind. She was born April 19, 1914, in Carmi, the daughter of Charles E. and Minnie (Lutz) Roser. She married Lehman White on November 11, 1933, and he preceded her in death on January 9, 1966. Gladys was a homemaker and charter member of the White County Farm Bureau Home Extension and long-time active member of the First Baptist Church in Carmi. For many years she was a retail clerk at the L. Haas Store in Carmi. She enjoyed cooking, and was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her yard. Survivors include two sons, Don (Margaret) White of Carmi, Alan Dean (Linda) White of Thornton, Colo.; daughter Donna (Scott) Land of Carmi; brother Carl Roser of Carmi; five grandchildren, Rhonda Smith, Rodney White, Robyn White, Michelle Land (Robin) Harris, Kristin Land (Jared) Blaylock; five great grandchildren, Courtney Smith, Dylan Smith, Rory Harris, Kit Harris, Landry Blaylock. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Doyle and Ralph Roser.
