Topeka State Journal, Saturday, Feb. 16, 1957, page 1C: Mrs. Kathleen J. Zahn, 39, 2820 Massachusetts, died Saturday at a local hospital after a long illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Topeka. Mrs. Zahn taught accordion at the Jenkins Music store and formerly taught at the Rozwick School of Accordion in Topeka and at Tulsa, Ok. She taught in Tennessee from 1950 to 1953. Mrs. Zahn was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God church. She was graduated from to Bible Institute of Springfield, Mo., in 1939, and did evangelistic singing with a singing group. Survivors include the parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Carl W. Barnes of Tullahoma, Tenn.; twin daughters, Betty Zahn and Barbara Zahn, a son, Carl Zahn and a twin sister, Mrs. Maxeen Hering, all of Tulsa; another sister, Mrs. Loretta Brooks of Washougal, Wash.; five aunts and four nephews. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God church with burial in the Mount Hope cemetery. The Rev. Mr. G. Manning will officiate.
