Mrs. Tina M. Hoppes, 54, of West Penn Township, died Wednesday afternoon, July 13. She was the widow of Darren S. Hoppes, to whom she was married for 29 years upon his death on Oct. 2, 2015. She was a longtime employee of West Penn Township, having great pride in maintaining the pristineness of the township community park. Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of Alma (Rausch) Sterner and the late Calvin Sterner. She was a member of Zion's Stone Church of West Penn Township. Tina was also a social member of the West Penn Township Fire Co. No. 1 and a 1980 graduate of Tamaqua High School. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends and her greatest accomplishment was being a homemaker and a grandmother. Surviving in addition to her mother are a son, Kyle S., and his girlfriend, Emily Mitchell; two daughters, Pamela S. and Sarah A., wife of Benjamin J. Fink; three sisters, Linda, wife of Richard Duda, and Debby Hill, all of New Ringgold, and Ruth Ann, wife of Donald Zellner of New Tripoli; her mother-in-law, Phyllis M. Hoppes of Andreas; a grandson Keith, and an expected grandson; and nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Glenn "Monk" Hill. Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 W. Penn Pike, Rt. 309, New Ringgold, with the Rev. Ken Melber officiating. Interment, Zion's Stone Church Cemetery, W. Penn Twp. Call 5-7 p.m. Sunday and 10-11 a.m. Monday. Contributions may be sent to the funeral home for her grandson Keith's education.
