Notes for this person
Died at her home 3 miles west of here on last Wednesday morning, Mrs. Hattie King nee Hickman. She had been a sufferer for years with that fatal disease consumption. It was sad indeed to take one so young and one who thought she would get well. All was done for her that loving hands and kind friends could do but God said, 'Come up higher.' The funeral was conducted at the house by Rev. Cameron after which the remains were laid to rest in the Hickman graveyard by the side of her father and mother who preceded her [in death] several years ago. She leaves to mourn her departure a husband, two sisters and five brothers. Both sisters were present and all the brothers but one. May God comfort the sorrowing husband who is left alone. We can say God's will be done not ours. Gone to live with God,/ Gone to that beautiful shore,/ Gone to dwell with the angels,/ Where parting is no more. EDINA (Mo.) SENTINEL, 1 August 1907, p. 1.
