EDINA (Mo.) SENTINAL, 18 April 1911, p. 1. Mark Ross, an aged and highly respected citizen, died April 10, 1911, at the house of his daughter, Mrs. Eva Baldwin, near Plevna. The deceased had a paralytic stroke about 35 years ago and had been a cripple ever since. Through all his sufferings he never lost faith in his Savior, and trusted Him who heals all of our infirmities. He was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church. He is survived by four daughters and one son, three brothers and one sister, a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services at his residence and interment at the Novelty Cemetery Tuesday." Marcus Ross' 2nd wife was Mary L. Coleman (1837-1906) whom he married in 1870, and they had 3 additional children.
