Tomblyn Funeral Home - January 26, 2016: Louise Pingley Zirkle, age 88 years, a resident of Norton, passed away Friday morning, January 22, 2016 at Colonial Place at Elkins. She was born April 5, 1927 at Coalton, a daughter of the late Dwight C. Nazelrod and Celia M. Kimble Nazelrod. She was twice married, first in January 1946 she was married to Clifford "Tuck" Pingley who preceded her in death December 31, 1995 and then in June 1998 she married Clates Zirkle who also preceded her in death August 2006. She is survived by one daughter, Connie Pingley and husband Joel Shifman of Missouri, one son, David P. Pingley and wife Robin of Philippi, one step-son, Bill Zirkle of Mabie and one step-daughter, Marsha Lanham of Mannington. One sister, Madge Omps and husband John of Minnesota and one brother, Paul Nazelrod and wife Jean of St. Mary’s, WV. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jenifer Clay and husband Mike of White Sulfur Springs, WV, Kimberly Sonnenberg of Tampa, FL, Daniel Pingley and wife Vita of Indiana, Andrew Pingley of Norton, Billy and Jayme Zirkle, both of Mabie and nine great grandchildren, Hannah and Tyler Sonnenberg, Mya and Mariah Winebrenner, Cory Clay, Agata and Irene Pingley and Liam and Baler Zirkle. Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Beulah Crouch, Freda Travis and Katherine Nazelrod and five brothers, Harold, Willard, Herbert, Raymond and Alfred Nazelrod. Louise was a graduate of Coalton High School with the Class of 1945 and had worked at the Memorial General Hospital in Elkins for many years in the Dietary Department. She also worked at the Election Polls in Norton for several years. She was a member of the Kynette United Methodist Church where she held various offices over the years and volunteered for other church activities. Louise was a homemaker, gardener, loved to do yard work and was a great seamstress. She was a true Christian who loved the Lord and truly believed that cleaning was next to godliness. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her family who will be lost without her. The family would like to thank Mountain Hospice who was with Louise and to the great and caring staff of Colonial Place. Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, January 28th, 2016 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 29th from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Oz Gray officiating. Interment will follow in the American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Northern Regional Office, 1299 Pineview Drive, Suite #3, Morgantown, WV 26505 or Kynette United Methodist Church, c/o Judy Primavero, 902 Buckhannon Pike, Coalton, WV 26257 in memory of Louise.
