Glenn Edward ZIRKLE

May 18, 2006 Osage County Herald: lenn Edward Zirkle, 73, Burlingame, died Saturday, May 13, 2006, at his home. He was born Aug 18, 1932, near Burlingame, the son of edward Elmer and Loretta Lucille Gifford Zirkle. He attended Sharon Grade School north of Burlingame. He worked for several construction companies, including Hamm and Conroy Construction, Topeka. He also was a farmer and raised cattle and hogs. He married Georgia Vollmer Dec 18, 1955, at Topeka. She survives of the home. Other survivors include three sons: Collin Zirkle and his wife, Cara, Harveyville; Brian Zirkle and his wife, Peggy, Burlingame; and Bob Zirkle and his wife,Lori, Meriden; a daughter, Cheryl McDonald and her husband, Al, Phoenix, Ariz; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy R Zirkle, who died in infancy in 1956. Funeral services were Thursday, May 18, at the Burlingame Federated Church. Burial was in Burlingame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Glenn Zirkle Memorial and sent in care of The First State Bank, P O Box 5, Burlingame, Kansas 66413, or Carey Funeral Home, Burlingame.
