New Castle Courier, New Castle, IN - March 31, 1927: Middletown, Ind., March 31 - Wilson Showalter, age 65, for over forty years an undertaker in Middletown, died this morning at 2:30 o'clock, following a stroke of paralysis suffered Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Showalter was a son of Joseph and Sarah Showalter and after graduating from school engaged in the printing business here and later became an undertaker. He retired from active work about four years ago following the first stroke of paralysis. He is survived by the widow and four daughters, Mrs. J. C. Hedrick, Mrs. Willard Cooper, Mrs. Fred Pulp, and Miss Rachel Showalter. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Charles S. Keesling of California. The funeral arrangements have not been completed.
