Bluffton, Indiana - The News Banner Friday, July 15, 1977 - P3C1: Ossian Native, George Zirkle, Dies at Age 63 A brother of Miss Mary Zirkle of Ossian and Mrs. Noah (Martha) Yake of Craigville, George E. Zirkle, 63, of Elkhart was dead on arrival at Sherman Hospital at Elgin, Ill, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday of a heart attack. A native of Ossian, he was president of Indiana Highway Materials Co. of Mishawaka and co-founder of Arco Construction and Engineering Co. of Elkhart.Mr. Zirkle was a member of Central Christian Church of Elkhart, Masonic Lodge No. 294 of South Bend, and Mizpah Shrine of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mineral Aggregate Association and Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana. Born Jan. 8, 1914, his marriage was to Mary W. Rix, who survives, took place at Geneva Nov. 27, 1932. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. David (Jean) Noll of Berne; two sons, Keith, of Bristol and William of Goshen; two sisters, Miss Mary Zirkle of Ossian and Mrs. Noah (Martha) Yake of Craigville; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The body is at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home at Elkhart where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday. Services, in charge of Rev. J. Kent Borgaard, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with burial at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.
