Bertha M. Zerkel, 90, Olney, IL died April 9, 1990 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. She was born February 11, 1900 in Richland County, IL, the daughter of Gottlieb and Mary Burgener Von Almen. She married Hugh Zerkel and he died November 18, 1945. She was a member of Saron United Church of Christ. Surviving is one son Ray Zerkel; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, Eldon, and a brother, Albert Von Almen. Funeral services were held at Zirkle Funeral Home with burial in Haven Hill Cemetery. Memorials mahy be made to Saron United Church of Christ or the First United Church of Christ of Olney.
