She is depicted on a gravestone in Forchtenberg from 1603. A contemporary Martin Berler lived in Forchtenberg, whom Walpurg Wernerin sued for marital infidelity in 1558. Her epitaph reads “An(n)o · 15 · 87 · de(n) 28Ma/=rtij ist in Christo Entsch/=laffen die Tugentsame / Frauw · Magdalena Ber/lerin · Jres Alters 57 · / Jar · der Gott gnad A(men)” (In the year 1587 on March 28, the virtuous woman Magdalena Berlein die in Christ, aged 57 years,God’s grace to her Amen.)
Her gravestone gives her date of death as 28 Mar 1587.
