Donald Bode -- Services were held for Donald J. Bode, 73, of Tempe, Ariz., formerly of Courtland, at Tempe Mortuary Chapel, with burial at Green Acres Cemetery in Tempe.
Donald John Bode was born May 12, 1929, in Courtland, to Samuel and Sophie (Schwartz) Bode. He graduated from Nicollet High School in 1947, and attended Dr. Martin Luther College for two years in New Ulm.
Bode was in the U.S. Army for two years and was the Postmaster of Courtland for 27 years.
He is survived by his wife Anita Bode; son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Linda Bode; daughter and son-in-law Doreen and Mike Mattes; grandchildren, Tosha and Garret Gordon, Brandon Abel, and Priscilla Bode; sisters, Connie Mielke and Elfrieda
Thom; brother Elton Bode; sister-in-law Naomi Budahn; brother and sister-in-law Vic and Lorna Senne; and many nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed by all.
