An der Ostfront ausgezeichnet mit dem E.K. 2. Klasse.
Starb bei den schweren Abwehrkämpfen bei Wersera, 15 km südlich Redchizza (Retschyza, Belarus) am Dnjepr durch einen Granatsplitter in den Kopf.
Beerdigt in Wetchin.
Auf der Gedenktafel der Kriegsopfer in der Donatuskapelle in Schlich verzeichnet.
