Mechanikergefreiter bei der Kriegsmarine zu der er sich freiwillig meldete. Soldat seit dem 03.11.1940.
Inhaber des U-Boot-Abzeichens.
Heimaturlaub im Juni 1942 weil sein Vater als Feldwebel in Rußland sein leben verloren hatte.
Kehrte im Juli 1942 von einer Feindfahrt nicht zurück. Am 05.02.1943 erhilten die Verwandten die Nachricht, der Todeserklärung am 12.07.1942.
Auf der Gedenktafel von U-136 am U-Boot Ehrenmal Möltenort verzeichnet.
