Gerrit vestigde zich bij 1e huw. op de boerderij aan de Buinsche Dijk onder Zevenbergen, later bewoond door zijn zoon Gerrit en verder door Jan van Beek. Hij behoorde met zijn zoons Adriaan en Gerritin 1834 tot de eerste afgescheidenen. In 1839 ouderling. Zijn zoons zijn in 1843 diakenen. Hij was eigenaar van de kerk, die hij wegschonk.
