Fred korte, a well known german citzizen, died monday nigth 2100 wet walnut street.

He came to this country when seventeen yeras old and engagde in farming in illinois,

nea the city of chicago, where he remained for about ten years, when he moved to chicago opening a store.

in 1882 he came to louisville and engaged in the grocery business at the corner of twenty firts and walnut streets.

he was well known amont a large claoss of germans, especially those from Hannover, formerly a kingdom

and now a german province.

Mr korte was a member of aurora lodge

f an a msonson, of schiller lodge,

k. und h. and of german luther st. peters chruch.

He leaves a widow and three childern, beging a sister of Frederick Brockmann, oft the firm of Wedekind & Co,

gthe funeral will take place thrusday afternoon at 2 o clock from st peters church

ant teh interment will be in cave hill.
