Marie Elizabeth (Bott) Ginsbach, age 88 of Hartford, died peacefully during the early morning hours, Wednesday, March 26 At the Prince of Peace Nursing Home, Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will begin Monday, March 31, 2008 in the St. Ann´s Catholic Church, Humboldt. Burial will be in St. Peter´s Cemetery, Colman, SD.

She was born on January 21, 1920, the eldest daughter of John and Mary (Lena) Bott. She grew up in Colman, SD. At the age of 18 her mother died and her father three years later. Following their deaths, Marie became the guardian of her five sisters.

Marie married Martin Ginsbach on August 24, 1943 at St. Peter´s Catholic Church, Colman. They lived in Colman, Orland, and Humboldt communities and in 1996 retired from their family farm and moved to Hartford, SD.

A deeply religious person, Marie was an active member of St. Joseph´s Catholic Church of Wellington and St. Ann´s of Humboldt and a CCD teacher. She worked at the Sunnyside Dairy in Colman, was a Minnehaha County 4H and adult education teacher, and a day care teacher at Kiddie Kampus Day Care prior to her retirement.

Grateful for having shared her life are her four daughters, Joanne Ginsbach, Hartford, Judith Redenius, Orange Park, Florida, Kathleen (Peter) Ackermann, Woodbury, Minnesota, and Cheryl (Dan) Prunty, Hartford; seven grandchildren, Martin (Nina) Redenius, Christine (Brad) Redenius-Beckmann, John Redenius, Michael Ackermann, Petra (Umit) Tenekeci, Adam and Sarah Prunty; six great-grandchildren, Catherine, Christopher, Isabelle, Samantha, Cassius, and John Jr. Redcenius; a brother, Edward Bott; four sisters, Isabel (Bud) Heinemann, Theresa (Alvin) Cahoy, Patricia (Don) Dvoracek, and Rosemary (William) Vogt; a brother-in-law, Bernard (Dona) Ginsbach; and a sister-in-law, Agnes Ginsbach. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin in 2004, her parents, three infant daughters, Rita, Mary, and Karen, and a sister, Doris Becker.
