<p>Mrs. Louise (Pietsch)?(Batsch) Weich, an early settler of the Scapa district, passed away in Calgary on February 14 the the age of 86 years. The late Mrs. Weich was one of the early pioneers in that area, coming there in 1915 with her husband Carl Weich who she married in Calgary the same year. The Weich family became well known as active members of the community and their residence near Scapa until retireing to Calgary in 1952 leaves many a recollection of the early pioneer days in that area and the part farm couples played in the events of the day. </p><p>The late Mrs. Weich was born inNersatz, Russia, on January 15, 1893 and was predeceased by her husband Carl, in 1975. She is survived by four daughters and three sons. </p>Funeral services were held on Friday, February 16 at 10am atThe Chapel on the Corner Hill, Calgary, Interment followed in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Calgary.
