<p>SERVICES HELD WEDNESDAY FOR NORMAN K. WINTER</p><p>Norman K. Winter, 49, of Parkston passed away on Monday, February 22, 1971, at the St. Benedict Hospital at Parkston. Funeral services were heldon Wednesday February 24 at the United Church of Christ with the Rev. Fred H. Sprenger of Redfield officiating. Internment was made in the Parkston Protestant Cemetery. </p><p>Norman Winter was bornin Parkston on May 19, 1928 to Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Winter and atendant grade and high school here. In 1943 he married Rosalie Weidenbach at Parkston on August 24. He served as a signalman with thearmy in Normandy and central Europe in World Was II and had been a member of the Lions Club for the past 20 years, served as president, secretary and was the current treasurer of the Parkston Protestant Ass'n, served on the city council, a member of the American Legion and actively served his church in various capacities over the years. He was employed at the Parkston Post Office at the time ofhis demise but had previously to this been in partnership in the Leader Hardware Store with his father and brothers.</p>Among his survivors are his wife: two daughters, Susan of Yankton, and Mary, a student at Southern State Teachers college at Springfield: his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Winter: two brothers, Lewis Winter of Chamberlain and Darrel Winter of Parkston.
