Melvin Leroy STUDLEY

Melvin Leroy Studley Of Milton, WA, passed away February 13, 2008 at Hallmark Manor in Federal Way. He was 72 years old. He was born February 27, 1935 in Strasburg, ND to Irwin Thomas and Anne Marie (Kraft) Studley. Mel graduated from Bellarmine Prep in 1953, and received a bachelor's degree from Seattle University in 1960. He married Victoria A. (Carlson) Studley on December 27, 1958 in Bellevue,WA; she survives him at home. He was a longtime resident of Federal Way. Mel worked as an engineer for Boeing for 33 years before retiring due to increasing complications of Huntington's disease. Hewas a member of Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis and Lake Dollof PTA, and participated in Crusillo and Kairos. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, clam digging, and scuba diving. Mel is survived by foursons, Leonard T. Studley of Milton, David T. Studley, Daniel P. Studley of Bothell and Peter J. Studley of Seattle; six daughters, Valerie A. Lickey (Matt) of Seattle, Colleen F. Yuh (Lester) of Seattle, Jean M. Studley (Scott) of Kirkland, Joan E. Studley (Aron) of Seattle, Sarah E. Guetle (Mike) of Auburn and Amy R. Cuoio (Ryan) of Lacey; brother Rod Studley of Sedro Wooley sister Vivian Peschek (John) of Tacoma, and 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Irwin Studley, his mother Ann Rinke, daughter Alicia J. Studley, and sister Luella Van Parys. A funeral Mass will takeplace 10:30 AM Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Federal Way. A Rosary will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, prior to the service. Private burial will follow service at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bellarmine Preparatory School, 2300 S.
