Das Geschlecht Gersema führte ein eigenes Wappen: steigender Hirsch am Schaft eines Baumes. Hero lebte später in Emden und dann in den Niederlanden. Er kaufte 1541 das Kloster Dykhusen nach dessen Zerstörung 1531. So ergibt sich ein Zusammenhang mit den Gersema in Visquard und Dykhusen.
