"Emma Suhl dies in Omaha
A live-time resident of the Omaha area, Emma Catherine Suhl, 97, died June 9, at the home of her daughter Katherine Sievers.
Born Jan. 31, 1884 on a farm west of Millard, Emma was the youngest of the 10 children of Jochim Brockman and Catherine Stoltenberg.
On March 7, 1906 she was married to Fred Suhl and resided on his parents farm near Chalco. In 1924, at the age of 37, Fred died and Emma and her six children moved to her brother Herman's farm north of Gretna and then moved to Omaha in 1948.
Emma was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Millard. After moving to Omaha, Emma became a charter member of the American Lutheran Church and of the Lutheran Women of Omaha.
She is survived by daughters, Katherine Sievers and Mrs. Frank (Clara) Iverson of Omaha, and Mrs. Henry (Agnes) Henningsen of Republican City; son, Arlie Suhl of Bellevue; 11 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Prayer services were held at Roeder Mortuary, Omaha Thursday June 11. Services were held Friday at the American Lutheran Church in Omaha. Officiating was the Rev. E.W. Danitscheke with interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Millard."
