HENRY W. GOETTSCH
Henry W.Goettsch, 90-year-old retired farmer, died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesd
ay in his home, 2621 Pershing Avenue, following a lingering illness.
Born in Germany June27, 1859 he came to Scott county in 1882. On No
v. 24, 1892, he married Helena Ewoldt in Davenport. He retired from farmi
ng 23 years ago.
Mr. Goettsch was of Lutheran faith.
Serviving are his wife; 2 daughters, Mrs. Harry Mangelsand Mrs. Arth
ur Rathjen, both of Eldridge; 2 sons, Walter and Orey Goettsch,both of Da
venport: 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Four sisters andone br
other preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturdayin the Hill & Fredericks chap
el followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
