  1. Miscelaneous Notes The info I had about Peter Ficken came from a plot/inventory of theMonsees cemetery. Plot No. 107 shows Peter Ficken 1 Dec 1814 - 16 Mar1879 and the notation 'no record found'. Helena Ficken only shows on plot/inventory of Bethlehem as No. 23 inthe old cemetery with the notation 'Monsees records'. 1911 is the keyyear for records at Bethlehem - prior to that there are either norecords or they are shown on the Monsees records. Saint John's records show under deaths in 1881 'Gesina Ficken - dau.of Peter Ficken and Gesche Knoop born, Sept. 26, 1846 died Dec. 23,1881'. 2. Obituary From Sedalia Journal, 20 March 1879 (translated from German) Dead: Onthe 15th died in Cole Camp, Mr. Peter Ficken, one of the oldestsettlers and esteemed citizens of the county. The deceased left behinda grieving widow, mourning children, and a great many friends. Peaceto his ashes.
