SUHR</span></span></strong></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">FREMONT, Neb. –William R. Suhr, 73, Fremont, Neb., died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He was born August 23, 1927, in rural Webster, Neb. He grew up in Paul and graduated fromRupert High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He then attended Idaho State College for two years, and then farmed for a short time. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from Dec. 14, 1949, to Dec. 14, 1953, in the Asiatic Pacific and Korea theaters. He worked for a power company in Utah before moving to Fremont in 1956. He was employed at Hormal and Co. in Fremont for 35 years, retiring in 1990. After his retirement, he worked at the Hinky Dinky Bakers part-time for three years.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He attended the Church of Christ in Fremont. He was a member of the Fremont Singles Club and a former member and officer of the Fremont Chapter of the American Heart Association. He was an avid camper and fisherman.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He married Phyllis M. Orendorf on June 5, 1954, in North Bend, Neb., and she died August 26, 1993.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Surviving are two sons, David Suhr, and Charles Suhr and his wife Dawn,all of Fremont; two brothers, Frank and wife Ella Suhr of Paul, and Lavon “Jim” and wife Margaret Suhr of North Ogden, Utah; and one grandson, Joel Suhr.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>His parents, Richard and Anna Liston Suhr, and his wife Phyllis preceded him in death.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at the Church of Christ in Fremont.
